Breaded Shrimp

Last month, my sister and her husband went to Baler, Aurora. She raved about the foods they ate while they were there. One of them was the fried shrimp they ate @ Gerry Shan’s Place. She wanted me to replicate it and here's my version.

The verdict: She loves it!

I Do Judge Books By Their Covers

I love reading and I'm currently addicted to e-books and sometimes, I wish I can read every e-book I get my eyes on but I couldn't. There's not enough time. So what I do is, pick new book base on their covers. I do believe that the cover is a reflection of the whole book plus I love good design.

I sometimes, find inspirations for my digital products in the cover like this one. What caught my attention, was the beautiful font or is it a brush stroke using a graphic tablet instead? I don't know. Due to summer heat, I'm too lazy to sit on my desk and get lost with google. But eventually, I will find out.

Gardening Update

For the past months, I've been trying my hand in gardening and I have my fair share of mistakes and success. My patience is being tested every now and then. I got frustrated at times and sometimes I want to give up, but then again the idea of harvesting my own food keeps me going. Now, I humbly salute all our farmers for growing our food that we sometimes take for granted.

Two weeks ago, I was able to harvest my onion chives and it's amazing.

I had my doubts that this is going to work but it did. It was a bitter-sweet experiment. I planted 10 cloves. 8 didn't sprout. The 2 cloves was able to grow an inch but as of this writing, It also died.

Once a week, I serve fruit salad or green salad for dinner. I specifically, love to use lolla rosa and I think planting it would be practical and economical. So, When we did our monthly shopping, I got myself a pack of seeds and immediately planted it.

After a few days, I saw this lovely babies sprouting and I got excited. I brought them outside and well, one heavy rain (in the middle of summer), ruined my plants and I was left with empty pots. :( :( :( It was heartbreaking, but I learned my lessons and as always, this is not the end. Going to try it again.

Sharing Creative Inspiration

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking through my links.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been sharing how and why Blurb is such an incredible source for telling your story—whether it includes photos, words or both. I realize that not everyone has the desire to write a novel or sell a book of their photos. Some people just want to commemorate a trip, an event, or a special occasion. Others may want to visually capture a business concept or life experience. Whatever the inclination, Blurb makes it easy and affordable to realize it.

Chances are you already have an idea for the kind of book you want to create. But in case you need a little inspiration, here are a few ways people have used Blurb to create their own creative and useful books:

A beautiful, custom-made book is one of the most thoughtful, meaningful gifts you can give. With Father’s Day, graduation, and wedding season just around the corner, this type of book can make the perfect gift that keeps on giving. And with Blurb’s cutting-edge book-making tools, you can add photos, words, stories, drawings—anything you want—and make something that’s truly one-of-a-kind. Ideas includes a favorite recipes book, a baby’s first-year book, a book of poems, a senior year book, etc.

You have a story to tell. Ok, so you may not have hiked across the Sahara or been on Broadway, but that doesn’t mean that you haven’t impacted lives or had interesting life experiences. And it certainly doesn’t mean that you don’t have valuable insights to impart. Even if you have no interest in sharing your memoir with anyone, the process of reflecting on your life and writing down some of your thoughts and experiences can be incredibly eye-opening and cathartic.

Pet Books

What better way to showcase your best friend than with their very own book. It could be something as simple as pictures and quips of trips to the park, naps on the couch, playing with a favorite toy, or basking in the sun, to a more in-depth life story book about your pet. These can be shared as gifts, sold to fellow pet-lovers, or just kept for your own personal enjoyment.

Non-Profit Fundraising Books

With Blurb, non-profits can share their story with compelling words and images and then sell them via Blurb’s Sell & Distribute option to fundraise for their organization. For example, Gerrit Greve’s Hearts for Healing book showcases how kids interpret a giving heart through art. It also chronicles how Greve’s students gained new confidence in themselves and their abilities knowing that their art could make a difference in someone’s life and health. This beautiful book is an example of how Blurb’s platforms can be used to support a cause that’s important to you.

These are just a few ways that you can use Blurb to share your story or promote a purpose, but know that there are many, many others. Get creative! Honestly, the most important part is just clicking on the “Get Started” link on As you start the process of creating your own book, you’ll be surprised at how quickly the creativity floodgates open!

And when it does and you’ve created your own book, be sure to tell me about it—if you’re okay with me doing so, I’d love to promote it to other readers. Who knows? You may inspire someone else to create a book of their own!

April Read

As I mentioned here, someone close to my heart is getting married next week and for the past months, I've been busy helping them to fulfill their dream wedding. Reading take a back seat for the month of April.

A Life Worth Living by Jennifer Probst-A great short story about a dog's life. I loved the fact that it was written from the dog's point of view. A perfect book for dog lovers. This is the only book that made me cry a river while reading it. It absolutely breaks my heart.

Personal Assistant (Hollywood Nights #1) by Cara North-The main characters are close to real life and the story was believable. It was a good read and I truly enjoyed reading it.

Started but set aside/Still reading:

I've been reading the "The Intimate Sex Lives of Famous People" like forever and as much as I wanted to finish it immediately, I keep on setting it aside after a few chapters. I don't know why. I'm still trying to figure it out and hoping that I'll be able to finish the 618 pages this year and blog it. The same happened with "The Marriage Trap" These books are worth reading, it's just that, I always get distracted with my endless to read books (which I sometimes browse for fun) I always end up reading books that I intend to read later.

The Power of a Praying Wife Devotional, on the other hand, is a must read for all wives. I love the daily reading and guided prayers. This book is amazing.
